Whether you've paddleboarded before or you're giving it a go for the first time, St Martins Watersports has boards for hire right on the beach. No need to drag kit across the country – just arrive, get a quick briefing, and you're on the water.

IS PADDLEBOARDING SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
Yes – and you don't need to be particularly athletic to enjoy it. Modern inflatable SUP boards are wide, buoyant, and forgiving for beginners. Our team will walk you through the basics before you head off: how to stand, how to paddle efficiently, and what to do if you fall in (because at some point, most people do).
Children can join in too, either standing on a board with an adult or on their own board depending on age and confidence.

THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR SUP
The Isles of Scilly offer some of the best paddleboarding conditions in England. St Martins is well sheltered from Atlantic swell, and the sandy-bottomed shallows make for incredibly clear water – you'll often be able to see marine life beneath your board.
For the more experienced paddler, we can point you towards longer routes exploring along the front of St Martin's, taking in Old Quay and explore the Ledges.

We booked a double SUP for 3 hours. It was easy to book online and clear about the requirements.
It was a very friendly service and knowledgeable staff explained where to go and supplied lifejackets for all the children who were using the SUP that day. We just paddled close to the shore and children had a fabulous day trying out paddling and jumping off the board.
We will definitely return and may venture further or try the kayaks. Children all under 7.
